'Dokonjonosuke Mishima, the founder of FCC's affiliate Cobra-kai in Japan captured a DEEP featherweight title by beating Cage Rage champ Imanari!'

Dokonjonosuke Mishima lost two in a row in the UFC's lightweight division (Stevenson and Florian) but now down at the 145 lbs division, defeated a current Cage Rage champion Masakazu Imanari to capture DEEP featherweight title.

It was the lightweight title bout that ended with the biggest bang as Pang Sung Hwan kayoed Kazunori Yokota in a striking and standing battle, which was pretty evenly matched. Although the Grabaka man controlled the initial ground game even getting a full mount and laying a lil’ g n p, he let opportunity escape as Hwan got back up utilizing the corner post. He would eventually cock him with a right hook to the chin as the Japanese fighter was coming forward; the referee stepped in to prevent further damage.

Although not as dramatic in finishing style, it was the return of a former champ, which had the greatest impact. Dokonjonosuke Mishima stepped back into the DEEP ring at a lighter weight after suffering two defeats against two of the UFC’s last few lightweight belt challengers. In his return to Japan as a featherweight, the effervescent Mishima was able to out edge the highly rated Masakazu Imanari. Although Imanari was high in the MMA pop charts, the very original Mishima who has developed his grappling and submission prowess even further was awarded a 2-0 decision. This was a much-needed turn of events for Mishima, perhaps cashing in on his octagon experience.

Meanwhile in the middleweight tournament, Yuichi Nakanishi took the longest road to winning this DEEP middleweight extravaganza. First he defeated PRIDE veteran Daijiro Matsui via a 3-0 decision and then repeating a similar performance against a tough Riki Fukuda who had slipped by Yuya Shirai with a 2-1 decision win in his first fight of the day.

In another exciting battle LUIZ took out Toshikazu Iseno via knock out as well.
